      As of late Sunday, Russia has defaulted on foreign debt, which has not occurred since 1918 during the Bolshevik Revolution. What Happened: The Kremlin failed to make payments totaling $100 million in dollars and euros owed to bondholders, missing a 30-day grace period, according to a Monday Wall Street Journal report.

      The United States and Taiwan will hold trade talks on Monday under a newly agreed-on framework. What Happened:  The office of the U.S. Trade Representative said the Deputy Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi would meet Taiwan's top trade negotiator, John Deng, to discuss an initiative on 21st-century trade, Without providing more details, Reuters reported.
