U.S. Treasury yields fell to
almost two-week lows on Wednesday as fears grew that the Federal
Reserve will cause a recession by aggressively tightening
monetary policy as it tackles soaring inflation.
Benchmark 10-year JGB futures rose on Monday after U.S. Treasury yields retreated from 10-year highs over the weekend, while the Bank of Japan's ramped-up efforts to defend its 10-year yield ceiling helped calm sentiment. The 10-year JGB futures rose 0.56 point to 147.99, with a trading volume of 8,760 lots.
The Bank of England said on Monday that its Financial Policy Committee would withdraw its mortgage affordability test recommendation following a review of the mortgage market. The withdrawal will come into effect from August, the BoE said.

Speculators reduced bearish bets on benchmark U.S. Treasury and five-year note futures in the latest week, a day before the Federal Open Market Committee meeting, Commodity Futures Trading Commission data showed on Friday. U.S. 10-year note futures' net shorts hit 205,529 contracts in the week ended June 14, the lowest since the week of May 17.
