Clean-up ongoing at Lyondell La Porte plant after leak kills two, injures 30

July 28 (Reuters) - Cleanup was ongoing on Wednesday morning after a leak of acetic acid killed two workers and injured 30 others at a LyondellBasell Industries (LYB) chemical plant in La Porte, Texas, the company said.

Some 100,000 pounds of a mixture that included acetic acid leaked on Tuesday evening. The company said 24 of the 30 individuals taken to local hospitals had been released. (Reporting by Liz Hampton in Denver; editing by Jonathan Oatis)
