Azerbaijan's Jan-April oil exports via BTC pipeline rose 1% y/y

May 17 (Reuters) - Azeri oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline via Georgia and Turkey were up by 1% year-on-year in the period January-April 2022 to 9.173 million tonnes, the State Statistics Committee said on Tuesday.

The BTC pipeline is used to export oil from the Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli (ACG) oilfields operated by BP.

Azerbaijan's total oil exports in January-April totalled 11.6 million tonnes, about 79% of which flowed through the BTC.

The volume of transit oil through BTC rose to 1.575 million tonnes in the first four months, from 1.289 million tonnes a year earlier.

Azerbaijan also exports oil via Russia through the Baku-Novorossiisk pipeline and through the Baku-Supsa pipeline. (Reporting by Nailia Bagirova; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
