Canada's Ontario province posts fiscal surplus in 2021-22

TORONTO, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Ontario, Canada's most populous province, posted a surplus for the latest fiscal year, ending in March, as revenues exceeded forecasts, an annual report showed.

The province reported a surplus of C$2.1 billion ($1.55 billion) in 2021-22, swinging from a deficit of C$16.4 billion in 2020-21, the Public Accounts 2021-22 document showed. ($1 = 1.3575 Canadian dollars) (Reporting by Fergal Smith)
